Heat Embossing Tutorial-Wild Thing

Today's tutorial is in honor of the Mission Emboss-able and Wild Thing Bundles.  :) Enjoy

Mission Embossable 009

When heat embossing it's important that the embossing powder only sticks to the stamped imagine, not the oil residue from our hands.  That's why the embossing buddy is important to the embossing process.  The buddy dries and powders the surface of our card stock. So step one is to rub embossing buddy over surface to be embossed.

Step two is to ink your stamp with either Versa Mark ink or Craft ink.  Both inks have a slow dry period making them an excellent choice for heat embossing.

Step three is to stamp your image onto card stock or designer paper.

Step four, place card stock in powder pal and sprinkle with embossing powder.

Step five, tap off excess powder.

At this point the image still look powdery.  Now the fun begins!

Mission Embossable 015

Heat image with heat tool until powder turns smooth and slightly raised.  It's almost magical the way the embossing powder changes before your eyes.  As the powder changes, move to another spot until the whole image is embossed.  It's important not to over heat or you may burn your card stock.

Thanksgiving Placecards

Place cards

These were the cutest little place-cards for our Thanksgiving Feast.  And better yet, can't you just envision them on a holiday scrapbook page?

To make the scallop turkeys, look for the scallop turkey tutorial on a previous post.  The turkeys are made with the scallop circle punch.  Love that punch.

Colors used are Really Rust, More Mustard, Sage Shadow, and Chocolate Chip. The Top Note die was used to make the bases, and the names were created using the Naturally Serif Decorative strip die.

Have a fabulous Black Friday.
