Summer Stamping Journey

100_7345

Our summer stamping journey comes to an end today.  What better stamp set to commemorate the last day of the Summer Mini than the Sentimental Journey stamp set?  Today's project is a hand stamped card, but the same layout, stamps and accessories could easily translate into a great Scrapbook layout.

Robin's Stamping Tips:

  • Create a play on words by using your punches.  Notice that the Journey stamp now says "Our Journey".  First, stamp and punch with the Word Window Punch.  Stamp a second time using an accent color, then punch with 3/4" Circle Punch.  Layer and mat your sentiment.
  • Go the extra mile and line your envelope with your designer paper and trim.
  • Make your card a sweet treat with Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain and Brights buttons.  Doesn't the button look like a delicious orange Life Savor?

Last Chance Summer Mini-Today is your last chance to order product from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini.  Tomorrow marks the start of the Holiday Mini.  If you have not yet received your copy of the Holiday Mini, I'd love to send you one.  Email me to request your copy.

Sweet Scoops with a Bit of Nostalgia

100_7343

Today's Sweet Scoops card comes to you with a nostalgic look.  Why?  Summer is coming to an end and the Summer Mini along with all its sweet selections will end on August 31. Just 2 days left before they are gone.

There is a bit of a sneak peek included also in this farewell project: Raven Trim Lace & Deck the Halls Big Designer Buttons!

Let's Talk Color!

If you tried to reach us this weekend, we were far from dependable cell service or internet.  We were visiting our son, Bryan, at Vinton Furnace where he is collecting data and doing research in his favorite kind of classroom, outdoors.

Reds-I tell you all this to say that, while the delicious new Cherry Cobbler & the tried and true Real Red are sure to steal the show this holiday season, Riding Hood Red deserves another look.  In the rolling hills of southern Ohio the landscape is dotted with beautiful red barns and other outbuildings.  If you look close, you will even find just a touch of red among the forrest trees as fall eases its way into the forrest.  Riding Hood Red says classic barn red, history and fall.  So if you want the look of times past or autumn splendor turn to Riding Hood Red.

Neutrals-While Riding Hood Red is the dominate color in this nostalgic Sweet Scoops card, the Neutrals Collection also play an important role in this color scheme.   They are rich, creamy Very Vanilla; sharp, crisp Basic Black; and yummy Crumb Cake & Chocolate Chip.  Neutrals are no longer regulated to the color cellar. They can and should be major factors in our paper crafting projects.

Summer Mini ends August 31.  If there is something that you just have to have now's the time.
