You've Got This Handmade Card

Hello Friends,

Today's one layer card is simply beautiful and easy to make.  Send a ray of sunshine with this handmade card that marries two popular stamping techniques-Heat Embossing and watercoloring.

For my card base, I used a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Shimmery White Card Stock scored at 4-1/4".  Love that you can watercolor on the Shimmery White Card Stock and that it shimmers.  Next, I stamped my flower from the You've Got This Stamp set  with Whisper White Craft Ink to frame my birthday wish and  I heat embossed it with White Emboss Powder.  This makes a lovely soft, white outline for coloring.

Watercolored Flower with bling

Next, I washed Daffodil Delight and Old Olive ink inside the outline with my Aqua Painter.  Hint:  Take care to color multiple shades of color.  Did you notice the fabulous bling?  After my flower was dry, I painted over my flowers one last time with my Clear Wink of Stella Brush.  Wow!

Handmade Card Tip

Here's another tip.  Add a pop of interest to you one layer card with panels of color on the inside.  As an added bonus, the interior card stock works to restore shape to a watercolored and/or heat embossed card.

I carried the white embossing over into the inside of my card and to my handmade envelope which I made with the Envelope Punch Board.  My Birthday Stamps are from the Better Together Stamp Set.
