Oh the Places You Will Go Bookmarks

Oh The Places You Will Go

Hello Friends,

Recently, I was asked to make bookmarks for Women's Retreat.  The theme of the Retreat is Women on a Journey.  I knew as soon as I heard the theme, that I would use the Place You'll Go Stamp set.   This stamp set is on the Stampin' Up! Retirement list, so it will be gone on May 31 or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

Places You'll Go

Here a close up.  And now, let's walk through the process of making Oh, The Places You Will Go Bookmarks.

Sponging Globes

I heat embossed all 52 globes with Gold Embossing Powder, then sponged a mix of Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party inks.   Lemon Lime Twist is a 2017-2018 Stampin' Up!  In Color.  Looks like it pairs well with Pool Party.  I am so stinkin' excited about this new In Color.  Earlier in the week Lemon Lime Twist danced with Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry.  See that project here.

The inks resist the embossed areas.  This stamping technique is called Emboss Resist.

Making Bookmarks

The 2" Circle punch was just what I needed to punch out the globes.

Watercoloring Bookmarks

Color Washing the Bookmarks added a pop of color for the globe's background.

2 Stamping Techniques-Watercoloring and Heat Embossing

You've Got This Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Here's another take on the card that I made on Monday.  The focal point has been changed, but it is the same basic card.  For today's card I used the lovely flower from the You've Got This Stamp Set with 2 Stamping Techniques-Watercoloring and Heat Embossing.

You've Got This

About this Card

Love the look of embossing and watercoloring.  To make my Flower, I first heat embossed the whole image (You've Got This Stamp Set) with gold embossing powder onto Shimmery White Card Stock.  Then, I watercolored with Sweet Sugarplum and Old Olive Ink.  What a  gorgeous flower!  I also embossed the splatters (Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set) and the "You've Got This".

The Soft Sky stamped background is a stamp from the You've Got this stamp set.  And the washi tape isn't washi tape at all.  It's a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set.  Love the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  It's the perfect accessory to so many card.  I will be sad to see it go.  It's on the Stampin' Up! Retirement List.

Swirly Bird in a Bow Tie

Swirly Bird Stampin' Up! Card Idea

Hello Friends,

There's a Swirly Bird in a Bow Tie doing the Lemon Lime Twist for today's springy card.  Here in Ohio we have been enjoying some beautiful spring days.  That means sunshine, blue skies, spring flowers and a choir of birds and frogs.

I have to admit the new Lemon Lime Twist from the 2017-2019 In Colors makes me want to dance.  It's such a bright and cheerful color and it looks fabulous with the Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight.  What do you think?  Great color combo?

robin's Nest

Today's Swirly Bird Card reminds me a bit about the go around that we had with some robins last week.  They were determined to build their nest on a light on our porch.  And we were equally determined that our porch was not the best place to build a nest.  They really do leave quite a mess. We went round and around until Joe finally covered the light.  Problem solved.  The robins settled on the lilac bush next to our porch instead.

The little bow stamp was meant to be bows on the kite (also included in the Swirly Bird Stamp set), but I think that It makes a fabulous bird bow tie too.

If today's card looks familiar, it is.  I made a very similar card last spring showing 3 of last year's new In Colors-Flirty Flaming, Peekaboo Peach and Dapper Denim.  I also shared picture directions for that card. See it Here.

The Eastern Palace Designer Paper and the Lemon Lime Twist Ink are not available to purchase yet, but they will be soon.  Both are Sneak Peeks from the upcoming 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  Of course, if you would like to order that sooner you could join Stampin' Up! and The Ink-Spirations (that's my team) for early ordering privileges and product discounts.
