Hold on to Hope Handmade Card

Hold on to Hope Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Today, we'll use an oldie but goody stamping technique called Emboss Resist.  Love the soft washed background from showing off my Gold Foil Cross and my message of hope.  It's the first time that my Hold on to Hope stamp set has seen ink, but it won't be the last.

Emboss Resist Technique

The Background for today's card is the Emboss Resist Technique.  First, I embossed on Watercolor Paper various stamped images from the Hold on to Hope Stamp Set.  Then I lightly spritzed the paper.  And finally, with an aqua painter I washed on Soft Sky and Lemon Lime Twist ink.  Love the soft ombre look.

Hold On To Hope Bundle

Sometimes you need hope. And sometimes you need someone to remind you that God is there for you.  Quickly cut crosses in a variety of sizes and styles with the Big Shot and these Framelits dies. The detailed cross die adds subtle embossing but does not cut.

Thank you for joining me today!  Is the Hold on to Hope Bundle on your Wish List?

How to Make an I Love You Card

How to Make an I Love You Card

Hello Friends,

Today, I'll show you How to Make an I Love You Card with your Petal Passion Designer Series Paper, your Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers and your Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies.  Any time of year is a good time to say, "I love You" with a handmade card.  And with Valentine's Day just around the corner, that's  even more true.

How to Make an I Love You Card

For both cards I cut various sweethearts with my Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies.  For this card, hearts were cut from Whisper White, Vellum and Pink Pirouette Card Stock.  For the other card, I cut a heart from the Petal Passion Designer Paper and Pink Pirouette Card Stock.

Petal Passion Designer Paper Stampin' Up!

If you find coloring therapeutic,  you'll love this technique.  The new Petal Passion has lots and lots on gorgeous Black and White patterns. Twelve beautiful sheets in each package.  Many of them are just screaming to be colored.  Out came my Stampin' Blends Markers and presto, the magic began.  I love that I can transform my designer paper with any colors that I fancy!

How to Make an I Love You Card

For this Card, the designer paper became the heart focal point, so I set it on a lovely Ruffle embossed piece of Whisper White Card stock.  The sentiment on both cards is from the Flourishing Phrase stamp set.  I heat embossed it white on Night of Navy.

Coloring on Designer Paper

I colored until I had enough to make both a card front and a heart.  The Stampin' Blends that I used for today's cards were Night of Navy, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry.  Just have fun with it.  I can think of so many different color combinations.  As always, I will have a complete list of crafting supplies used at the bottom of this post.

Mermaid Cards Made with the Magical Day Bundle

Magical Day Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Mermaids are a hot trend with little girls.  I have that on good authority from my 3 year old granddaughter, Brooke.  She even has a new Mermaid Toothbrush!  You'll also find that mermaids are trending in fashion and toys.   Mermaid party themes are also hot.  Mermaids are just one of the reasons that I love the Magical Day Bundle for Card Making and Scrapbooking.  There's plenty to interest boys too.  See the knight and the dragon in action here.

Magical Day Bundle Stampin' Up!

My problem today, was that I had 2 Mermaid Card Ideas and simply couldn't decide which card that I liked better.  See for yourself.  Which Card do you like best?

Magical Day Stampin' Up!

The Cards are similar, but different.  For this card, I used the Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks with Embossing paste to make my background.  Hint:  To make my embossing paste green, I added a few drops of Pear Pizzazz Ink.  I colored the mermaid  with Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers.  She's mostly Pink Pirouette with just a touch of Old Olive for her tail.  The Stitched Shape behind her is Blushing Bride.

Magical Day Stampin' Up!

For my second Mermaid Card, the background looks more like waves.  Hint:  I created the background using the Ruffled Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder and Blushing Bride Card Stock.  So what's your vote?  Let us know in the comments of this blog post.

Color Challenge

The color inspiration for both cards came from this week's Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge CC670.  Karen chose Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and Pear Pizzazz and for dessert she chose lace.  I guess that I didn't technically use lace, but the Delicate White Doily looks a lot like lace to me.  Love these Karen's Pretty Soft Color choices.  It's sure to be a lovely gallery this week.  Join us for this week's Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge Here.
