Christmas Pines Winter Scene Card

Christmas Pines Stampin' Up!

Hello  Friends,

Did you see the super moon on Sunday?  The clear sky made it especially impressive.   It may not be a super moon, but  you can make a card with a moon using  ink, paper and a mask.  I stamped the scenery with the Christmas Pines stamp set.

Color Challenge

For this week's Splitcoast Stampers CC664 Color Challenge, Stef is the Hostess and she chose Berry Burst, Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point.  For dessert she chose Winter Sky and Winter Scene.   This challenge was way out of my comfort zone, but it's good to step out of your comfort zone from time to time.  Will you take the Challenge?  Find this week's Color Challenge here.

Masking Technique

Masking and Emboss Resist Stamping Techniques

To create today's scene, I  used 2 different stamping techniques.  The first technique is called Masking.  I cut a 2" Circle with the 2" Circle Punch from a Post It Note to create the moon.  Then, I sponged layers of Berry Burst, Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point to create the scene.

The second technique is called Emboss Resist.  Both the snowflakes and the pine bough were embossed to resist the sponged on ink.  The embossing also prevents ink smears when sponging.

Handmade Card for a 3 Year Old

Handmade Card for a 3 Year Old

Hello Friends,

One thing that I love about making handmade cards is that you can personalize them.  For week's now our Granddaughter, Brooke, has been telling us that she wants Pink  and Purple and Blue Balloons and donuts with sprinkles for her birthday.  Every time we talk to her, she rattles off the same colors, so thought that it might be fun to make a Birthday Card with Pink and Purple and Blue balloons.  Believe it or not, I fussy cut the bears, the squirrel and the bunny from the Birthday Memories Designer Paper.  The Birthday Friends dies cut the balloons, presents and hats.

Brooke

Who can resist a face like that?  Brooke loved helping me baking on our last visit to her house.  The flour on the end of her nose only adds to her charm.  Happy 3rd Birthday, Brooke!

Personalized Birthday Card

I made the her Birthday Card extra big (5-1/2" x 8-1/2") because kids seem to think big is better.  Inside I inked up stamps from the Birthday Delivery stamp set in....you guessed it....Pink and Purple and Blue inks.

You Move Me No Bones About It

Cards That Move
 Hello Friends,

Today, I'm going to share with you how to make 2 handmade cards in which the stamped image appears to be moving.  The first card was made with the You Move Me Stamp Set and coordinating Move Me Dies.  In the Stampin' Video below, you'll see how they work together to make an image appear to move.

Did you see the butterfly move?  Sweet, right?

My soon to be 6 year old grandson has a birthday coming up and he loves dinosaurs, so I thought that I would give the No Bones About It (Dinosaur stamp set) a whirl with the Move Me Dies.

Dinosaur Card That Moves
The results aren't quite as impressive as it was with the You Move Me stamp set, but to a 6 year old, one dinosaur chasing another is fun.  I tucked the pull out into a Mini Treat bag that I made with the Mini Treat Bag Dies and Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.

And when the Birthday Boy pulls on the tab, he'll discover his two dinosaurs with a Birthday Message!
