A Little Wild

A Little Wild Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

The A Little Wild Bundle was designed for making Baby Gifts and Cards, but don't stop there.    Lions, Bears and Elephants make terrific cards and gifts for children of all ages.  Today's Birthday Card and Gift Bag was designed for my grandson who soon turns 5.   Scroll down for a Stampin' Up! Video Tutorial using the A Little Wild Bundle.

Handmade with Love

What do you do when you are putting the finishing touches on a really cute project and THIS HAPPENS?  Do you scream and leave the room?  Do you trash it and start all over?  Or do you get creative and add embellishments?  Just as I was adding the last little honey bee, my hand landed in my watercoloring palette and onto my card.  Boo Hoo!  What to do?

A Little Wild Stampin' Up!

My solution....the adorable Balloon Honeycomb Embellishments from the Birthday Memories Suite.  Cute, cute, cute!  Hint:  Apply your balloons with glue dots.

Lincoln

Happy Birthday, Lincoln!
It's hard to believe that you are turning 5 already.

A Little Wild Stamp Set and the Little Loves Framelits dies make adorable gift tags and cards.  Watch the video for more project ideas using the A Little Wild Bundle.

Handmade Child's Birthday Card

I made my Gift Bag with the Gift Bag Punch Board.  Tip:  To make a flap for the top of your bag, simple flip your bag over and punch the top too.

Handmade with Love Birthday Pop-Up Card

Handmade Birthday Card

Hello Friends,

Handmade Birthday Cards are the best, because they are handmade with love.  Today's Birthday card is for my granddaughter, Sadie, who is turning 4 soon.  It's a simple, yet fun card design on front with an element of surprise inside.

Handmade Pop-Up Card

Yep, it's a Pop-Up Birthday Card!  And All I needed was a strip of 3-1/2" x 6" card stock scored at 1-1/2", 3" and 4-1/2" to make the pop-up.  Ba-bing, ba-bang, I have a festive pop-up table to place the beautiful birthday cake.  I used the same concept to make these Get Well Tissue Pop-Up Cards Video Tutorial included).

Another nice thing about handmade cards, is that you can easily personalize them to say almost anything.  What 4 year wouldn't be delighted to see their name stamped on their birthday card?  It's easy, peasy to do with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.

Birthday Memories

Would you believe that images on today's Handmade with Love Pop-Up Birthday Card are from the Birthday Memories Designer Paper?  And no, I did not meticulously hand-cut cut all the little images.  The Birthday Friends dies make quick work of cutting images from this delightful paper.

Birthday Delivery Stampin' Up!

But don't stop there, you can also stamp and custom color images from the Birthday Delivery stamp set as I did with the birthday cake on today's card and cut them with the coordinating Birthday Friends dies.

Sadie

Happy Birthday, Sadie!

Chalkboard Technique in 3, Maybe 4 Easy Steps

Chalkboard Technique for Cards

Hello Friends,

Schools are closing their doors for the summer.  Kids are home.  Let's have one last hurrah!  Learn how to do the Chalkboard Technique in 3, Maybe 4 Easy Steps.  Add Chalkboard to your Card Making Skills.

Chalkboard Technique

Chalkboard Technique in 3, Maybe 4 Easy Steps

Step 1-Stamp and Heat Emboss your images White on Black.  Hint: Remember to use your Embossing Buddy so that the embossing powder only sticks where you want it.  I used the Balloon Adventures Stamp set which will officially be Retired in less than 2 days.  The Balloon Adventures stamp set is on Low Inventory status, so scoop up your set before it's gone.

Step 2-Stamp images again slightly offset with Whisper White Craft Ink to create the shadowed, slightly messy chalk look.

Step 3-Light rub Whisper White Craft ink in circular motions across your "chalkboard" to give it that just erased look.

Step 4-If you would like to add color to you white chalk, scribble across the areas that you want colored with colored pens.

Fusion

I chose to use the Fusion Photo for my inspiration.  I deviated from the baking theme, but I have the same slightly messy chalkboard look with white and colored chalks.
