Little Elephant Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Let's close out the week with a bit of sweetness.  For today's card, I paired up the Little Elephant stamp set with the Tropical Escape Designer paper.  Isn't the little plaid elephant just too cute!

Little Elephant Stampin' Up!

Just look at all the pretty patterns in the Tropical Escape Designer paper.  And the colors are pure sweetness- Basic Black, Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White.

There are two different size elephants.  I use the larger on for today's card.  And because we all love punches, there is a coordinating punch.  There's a variety of  sentiments to use for many different occasions.

We Must Celebrate Ombre Awesome Card

We Must Celebrate Stampin' Up!

 Hello Friends,

Today's card is for my son, Jonathan, who is the later stages of his Doctorate Program.  The back story is that he has been signing all his Christmas tags and such "from Awesome" since he was a teenager and continues to this day, so he will appreciate the ombre awesomes.

The woodland animals are from the adorable We Must Celebrate stamp set.  I colored each with Stampin' Blends, then fussy cut them and stacked them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Ombre Technique

Getting the Ombre Look with the "awesome" stamp was quite easy with the Stamparatus Stamp Positioning Tool.  The first one was stamped full strength with Night of Navy Ink.   Each time I stamped the word awesome, it was a bit lighter and it was lined up perfectly thanks to the hinged system of the Stamparatus.

I wanted to make the last awesome shine, so stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Gold Emboss Powder.

Coloring on Glossy Designer Paper

Springtime Foil Paper's Glossy Surface is a dream to Color.  Here's a few Coloring Tips.

Flicking strokes yield much better results than a circular motions with the glossy surface.

I tried coloring with both Stampin' Blends (Alcohol Based Markers) and ink pads and was equally please with the results.

The Calypso Coral flowers were colored and blended with Stampin' Blends.  It's especially import to use flicking motions when blending on glossy paper.  The colors also look darker and richer on glossy paper.  The blends  dry very quickly, which is nice for adding multiple layers of color.

The leaves were colored with Emerald Envy Ink and a blender pen.  To add depth to my coloring, I went back and added a second and sometimes third layer of color leaving some spaces lighter than others.

Note: These vibrant colors looked especially good with the Rose Gold foil!
