Lighthouse Sketch

Lighthouse Sketch

Hello Friends,

This lovely Lighthouse Sketch was done with only stamps, paper and ink.  Let's  get back to the basics 0f stamping.   Mr. Brown delivered my High Tide Stamp set yesterday.  What a great stamp set!  I'm so glad that it is carrying over to the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! catalog.

High Tide Stampin' Up!

Stamping with the High Tide stamp set had me singing  My Lighthouse by Rend Collection, but that's ok.  This year's Wacky Wild Water Week's theme is Captain Salty's Lighthouse Adventure.  And since I will have 3 of my grandson's that week, I need keep up my Nana's Coolness factor and know the My Lighthouse song.

Lighthouse Card

The 16 piece High Tide  photopolymer stamp set has plenty of stamps for making a sketch.  And the the photopolymer stamps are completely see through for easy placement.

For the look of a sketch, I used 3 inks-Basic Black, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate.

The Designer Paper peeking through is the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper Stack.

Simple? Handmade Card

Handmade Card

Hello Friends,

Sometimes less is more when it comes to making handmade cards.  Take today's "Moose You" card,  it's quite simple to make.  It's striking and fun too.  So why, oh why did I spend an additional 30 minutes trying to add more?  Just a bit of Baker's twine or Linen Thread should finish my card nicely, right?  Wrong!  Bad idea!  What about  adding some Glimmer Enamel dots or a touch of ribbon?  No, no, no!  This really should be a 5 to 10 minute card making process.

Pick a Pattern

The Pick a Pattern Designer Paper (available starting June 1, 2017) is so quirky and fun!  I really would have bought the pack of paper for the 2 sheets of  fun critters and campers, but like the name implies, there are so many patterns choices.  I chose to fussy cut the moose and the simple house.  Have you ever tried to fussy cut with hiccups?  I really thought that I would loose an antler.

Just 7 more sleeps until the 2017-2019 Stampin' Up! Catalog goes live.  What's on your wish list?

Moose You Card

I wanted to make my own message, so I used the Labeler Alphabet stamp set to stamp "moose you".  Our son and his family live in Wyoming, so we don't get to see them as often as we would like.  And it's not uncommon for a moose to wander into their backyard.  Besides, the quirky moose is cute!

Make a Card in 10 Minutes

Make a Card in 10 Minutes

Here's a few simple tips and tricks to making this gorgeous card in 10 minutes or less.

Note Cards

Psst--My number one secret to making quick and is cards is Note Cards & Envelopes.  They're cut, scored and ready to stamp and send a card. This thick white base is a fabulous card starter.  And there are 20 of these babies in each package---with envelopes!

Beautiful You

Stamp one of the gorgeous gals from the Beautiful You Stamp Set and stamp one of the many sentiments below her.  There are so many fabulous choices in this 13 piece stamp set.

Floral Boutique Designer Paper

The next step is a simple technique called Paper Piecing.  Simply stamp your girl again on designer paper and cut out her dress and hat.  Glue over stamped image.  Presto!  It's as simple as that.  I used the classic Navy and White Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.

You could stop right there and have a beautiful one layer card.

Love NotesFramelits Dies

Kick It Up a Notch Card Tips

If you would like to kick your card up a notch, trim off 1/2" from the front right side of your Note Card.  Then, cut a Copper Foil heart border with the Love Note dies and the Big Shot.  Slip your border in place and ooh, la la!  The Navy and the copper look absolutely fabulous together.   To compliment, the Brighter Days to come sentiment, I tucked a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock on the inside.
