Nature Silhouettes Masculine Birthday Card

His birthday is a howling good event.   Why not make a masculine birthday card to fit the occasion?  Today's card was made for my son, Jeremiah, who recently celebrated another birthday.  Happy Birthday, Jeremiah!

My last piece of lovely Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (retiring) makes a smart bow to neatly finish my card. I'm going to miss my Striped Ribbon.

Robin's Rubber Stamping Tips-Masking

• The wolf from the Nature Silhouettes (retiring) was first stamped with VersaMark Ink, then heat embossed with Black embossing powder.
• Next, I punched a 1-1/4" Circle Punch from my post it notes pad.  Stick post it circle above wolf.
• Sponge area first with Bashful Blue and Night of Navy Classic Stampin' Pads.
• Remove Sticky note

Another Sneak Peek for you.  The cut shape is the Apothecary Accents Framelits.  The Happy Birthday was stamp with the Well Penned Stamp set.  I personalized my card with the Family Reunion stamp set.

The Rhinestones were applied before I decided to use my framelit giving my Rhinestones a  distressed look. What can I say, it worked.

My envelope and card inside gave me one more chance to use the oh so cute Ronald McDonald House stamp set of 2011-2012.  The Turtle & Co. stamp set will be retiring in just 5 more days.

Summer Smooches Fisherman/Hunter Pouch

With a husband, 6 sons and 5 grandsons, I felt a need for the Summer Smooches Petite Purse to go masculine.  Here's my rendition of a sportman's pouch/backpack.  Maybe I should have checked with my sons on what to call it. I was so excited to share these with you.  They are so stinkin' cute!

Masculine Birthday Card Scores a Goal

 

With 6 sons and 5 grandsons, not to mention a husband and other male relatives, I make a lot of masculine cards.  Today's masculine birthday card combines a sport and traditional birthday elements.  My son, Jonathan, coaches soccer so the Goal stamp set was a natural choice.  Happy Birthday, Jonathan!

Robin's Crafting Tips

• The splash of red from the Riding Hood Red Pleated Ribbon and the "cherry on top" take my card from ho hum to wow.  Think of the pleated ribbon as a card maker's "power tie".
• The curving red line of the ribbon also says movement and excitement.
• Textured frosting on the punched cupcake (Cupcake Builder Punch) makes you want to dip your finger for a scoop sweet, creamy frosting.  
• And the Striped embossing folder compliments the energy of the Twitterpated Designer Paper.

A Masculine Birthday Card to wish my son a Happy Birthday today.  Bryan is an outdoorsman,  so the Paisley Petals Designer Paper was the perfect place to start.

Robin's Crafting Tips

• Designer Paper strips set the stage for today's card.  The 2 end strips are 1-1/2" wide and the center is slightly larger at 2"
• Load up the packages and drive by with a birthday hi with the Loads of Love and Loads of Love Accessories stamp sets.
• My Masculine color combo is Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Soft Suede, River Rock and Always Artichoke.

My base was 5-1/2" x 5-1/4".  When my Grandson, Connor, saw the left over strip of Crumb Cake, he just had to make his own card for his Uncle Bryan.  So one sheet of Crumb cake netted both of these birthday cards.  He added to Soft Suede Postage Punches to his card front.

My message waves across my card in a banner.  The Petite Pennant Builder Punch makes banners quick and easy.  Just add a bit of Linen Thread.

Connor was especially enthusiastic waving pines across the inside of his card.

Envelope Tips

• Last week Stamping Country Newsletter subscribers receive an Envelope Cheat sheet.  Today's card required a new envelope size to add to your cheat sheet.
• Cut base 8-1/2" Square, Lining is 8-1/4" Square.  Score at 4".  Makes a 5-5/8" Envelope.

Masculine Congratulations Card

Congratulate him and encourage him with a card.  My son, Bryan, recently earned a good scholarship and my son, Jonathan, was recently offered a new position.  Hurrah, Hurrah, this is what I came up with to congratulate them.

Robin's Crafting Tips

• To achieve two colors on my Word Play stamp, I inked the rubber with my Poppy Parade and Island Indigo markers.  Huff to moisten, then stamp.  Simple.
• To make the Island Indigo square look like the basket weave of the balloon basket, I embossed them with the square lattice embossing folder.
• The Up, Up & Away balloon was cut out and mounted with a stampin' Dimensional for added lift.
• The Island Indigo Bakers Twine gives us an airy look.

50th Masculine Birthday Card

Make a great Masculine Birthday Card! I pulled out all the stops to make my brother's 50th Birthday card.  Happy Birthday, Mark!

• Start with a ruggedly handsome color combination.  I took my cue from the Mocha Morning Specialty Designer paper which features Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.  And a milestone birthday, like 50 calls for a little something extra, so I highlighted his birthday card with  Brushed Gold card stock.
• The Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies and my Big Shot make it a snap to personalize a specific Birthday year.  Just cut your numbers and add with your 2-way glue pen.
• The Family Reunion stamp set personalizes my birthday card even more with the  "brother" stamp.

Even the inside of his birthday card sports the Brushed Gold Card Stock.  My sentiment is from the On Your Birthday stamp set.
