Pop-Up Birthday Cards

Balloon Adventures Handmade Birthday Card

Hello Friends,

How many Birthday Cards do you send in a year?  Bet it's a lot, after all, everyone has a birthday.  We have 29 birthdays in our immediate family alone.  That's simply our kids, grandkids and parents.  Once you add in friends, co-workers and extended family, that's a lot of Birthday Cards.  No matter how many birthday you celebrate,  handmade Birthday Cards are best and Pop-Up Birthday Cards are even better.

I love the Balloon Adventures Bundle for making Birthday Cards.  It works well for both the guys and the gals.  It has loads of sentiment options and fun balloons and, best of all, it makes fabulous Pop-Up Birthday Cards.  Today's Balloon Adventure card is for my son, Ben, who turns 35 soon.  Guess I can no longer claim to be 39.  The math simply doesn't work.

Card Making & the Role of Designer Series Paper

Birthday Banners Card

 Hello Friends,

Designer Paper can play the star role in Card Making or it can be the perfect compliment to your  focal point.    It's the pearl necklace that dresses up any outfit.  Today, I am going to share 4 very different cards using the beautiful, navy and white, Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.

The mixed patterns (flowers & polka dots) add to the playful balloon theme of this Birthday Card.  The stamp set is Birthday Banners.

Birthday Banner Card

Designer Paper is also a great way to choose a color combination for your card.  Stampin' Up! makes it easy to do this.  The colors used in a package of designer paper are list both on the package and in the catalog.  They even offer coordinating card stock packages to match their designer paper.

Die Cut Gate Fold

Using the same Floral Boutique Designer paper, I made a completely different Birthday Card.  My second Card is a Die Cut Gate Fold Card highlighting the Endless Birthday Wishes Stamp Set.  I made the gate fold with the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.

Designer Paper also makes cute belly bands to wrap around your cards.

Eleventh Birthday Card

Do you have a hard time choosing which side of your Designer Paper that you like best?  Try turning a corner over to reveal the other equally beautiful side.

Other tools used for this card are the Owl Builder Punch, the Large Number Dies and the Number of Years Stamp Set.

Country Livin' Card

For my final card, I went masculine ( Not bad, for a package of paper called Floral Boutique).  The Cowboy boots are from a stamp set called Country Livin'.

So what do you think?  Is it time to stop hoarding all your favorite Designer Papers and use them to make beautiful cards?

Banners for Christmas & Pretty Pines

Banners For ChristmasHello Friends,

Today, I went for a rugged or natural look Christmas Card.  I used the Banners for Christmas Stamp set and the Pretty Pines Dies from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog.  Together, they make a handsome Christmas Card.

Merry MondayA Big Thanks to Merry Monday for this week's Masculine Christmas Card Challenge.

Pretty Pines

Making a Masculine Christmas Card

I stamped my Merry Christmas Banner with Basic Gray and Cherry Cobbler Inks, then cut it out with the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies.  Love this die set!  It's so classic and it coordinates with not only the Banners for Christmas Stamp set, but also the Banners for You stamp set, the Birthday Banners Stamp Set, the Basket for You Stamp Set, the Time of the Year Stamp Set and the One Wild Ride Stamp Set.  Wow, that's a lot of coordination!

I also stamped the big, bold candy cane from the Banners for Christmas stamp set and fussy cut it.

The beautiful evergreens and pinecones were cut with the fabulous Pretty Pines Framelits Dies.  Love all the detail.

Continuing with my masculine theme, I embossed the Kraft background with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder.

Christmas Magic

I hopped on over to the Christmas Magic Stamp set to finish my card inside and to go all out on my masculine Christmas Card theme.
