Star Wars R2-D2 Birthday Card

Star Wars R2-D2 Birthday Card

Hello Friends,

What little boy isn't fascinated with the popular Star Wars Movies?  Today, I excited to share with you how to make this adorable Star Wars R2-D2 Birthday Card.

Connor

It's hard to believe that my second oldest grandson, Connor, is turning 8 already.  What do you think?  Is R2-D2 a fun Birthday Card for an 8 year old boy?

R2-D2 Star Wars

Believe it or not, I made the R2-D2 with a combination of Punches, Dies and stamps.  The rugged, highly-textured Cable Knit Background really R2-D2 Pop.  I really love that Dynamic Embossing Folder.

I personalized Connor's 8th Birthday Card with the Number of Years Stamp Set and the Large Numbers Dies.

Jar of Love Stampin' Up!

And R2-D2's frame is made primarily with the Jar of Love Bundle.  Crazy, I know!  His body is a stamped canning jar stamped with the Jar of Love stamp set and cut with the Everyday Jars Framelits dies.  His arms and neck are the jar lid.  And his stamped stripes are a stem stamp from the Jar of Love stamp set.

With the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, I fashioned feet and hands (the bow tie).  I also punched various circle.

His head is the 1-3/8" Circle punch with the bottom sliced off and the circular Pacific Point shapes at the top are a portion 1-1/4" Circle Punch.

All the square and rectangular pieces were simply cut with my Stampin' Trimmer.

Party Pop=Up Card Stampin' Up!

Of course, every 8 year old boy likes action and moveable parts, so I thought that it would make this a Pop-Up Birthday Card with the Party Pop-Up dies.  The Party Pop-Up Dies make  a quick and easy addition to any card.

Cat in the Hat Treat Bags

Cat in the Hat Treat Bags

Hello Friends,

This Cat in the Hat treat bag idea has been twirling around in my head since the first time that I stamped this whimsical tree from the Peaceful Pines stamp set.   And Back to School time is a great time to make Cat in the Hat Treat Bags.

Cat In the Hat Treat Bags

Plus, I was dying to make something with the adorable Petite Cafe Gift Bags.  These cute Kraft poly-lined treat bags with tin tie closures are food safe, so go ahead and make up a special treat.  Next, I stamped the tree that started it all and cut it out with the Perfect Pines Framelits dies.  Yep, the Peaceful Pines stamp set was designed with Christmas projects in mind, but is so much more.

Cat in the Hat Paper Craft

How to Make Cat in the Hat Punch Art

I made the cat's bow with the Bow Builder Punch.

Next, I stamped "My Heart smiles Just Thinking of You" , from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set on Whisper White Card Stock.  Then, framed and cut it with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies.

I fashioned is hat by stacking strips of Real Red and Whisper White Card Stock.

The final addition to my Cat in the Hat Treat Bag was the gorgeous new Real Red 3/4" Stitched Edge Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog.

Well, That Just Stinks

Skunk Punch Art

The Fox Builder Punch isn't just for foxes.  Today, it's a skunk.  The "well, this just stinks" stamp from the Here For You stamp set was just begging for a little punch art skunk.  The black and white striped paper (perfect right?) is from the Pop of Pink Designer Paper.  Since this card is for my grown son, I thought I would skip the Melon Mambo and go for a Soft Sky Tag.

Jeremiah

My son, Jeremiah, had surgery yesterday for a soccer injury.  Since he's too big and too far away to kiss his boo boos anymore,  I think I'll send him a card.

Bella & Friends Stampin' Up!

The Bella & Friends and the Here for You Stamp Sets compliment each other so well.  They are just so fun together.

Punch Art Sky and matching envelope

A card this cute needs a handmade envelope.  An 8" square piece of Soft Sky Card Stock and my Envelope Punch Board were just what I needed to make this happy matching envelope.
