What little boy isn't fascinated with the popular Star Wars Movies? Today, I excited to share with you how to make this adorable Star Wars R2-D2 Birthday Card.
It's hard to believe that my second oldest grandson, Connor, is turning 8 already. What do you think? Is R2-D2 a fun Birthday Card for an 8 year old boy?
Believe it or not, I made the R2-D2 with a combination of Punches, Dies and stamps. The rugged, highly-textured Cable Knit Background really R2-D2 Pop. I really love that Dynamic Embossing Folder.
I personalized Connor's 8th Birthday Card with the Number of Years Stamp Set and the Large Numbers Dies.
And R2-D2's frame is made primarily with the Jar of Love Bundle. Crazy, I know! His body is a stamped canning jar stamped with the Jar of Love stamp set and cut with the Everyday Jars Framelits dies. His arms and neck are the jar lid. And his stamped stripes are a stem stamp from the Jar of Love stamp set.
With the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, I fashioned feet and hands (the bow tie). I also punched various circle.
His head is the 1-3/8" Circle punch with the bottom sliced off and the circular Pacific Point shapes at the top are a portion 1-1/4" Circle Punch.
All the square and rectangular pieces were simply cut with my Stampin' Trimmer.
Of course, every 8 year old boy likes action and moveable parts, so I thought that it would make this a Pop-Up Birthday Card with the Party Pop-Up dies. The Party Pop-Up Dies make a quick and easy addition to any card.
