Dresden Designs

Pin It

Twitterpated Designer Fabric and the Dresden Designs Bigz Die team up to make these scissor sleeves.  Better yet, the are quick and easy to make.

Take the work out of cutting the Dresden pattern.  The Dresden Designs Bigz Die easily cuts 6 layers of fabric with one quick pass through the Big Shot.  Yeah!

Cut 4 pieces, 2 of each design.  Place right sides together and stitch the curve. 

Clip, turn right side out and press.  Repeat with second set.

Stitch pieces together at sides and bottom.  Turn and press.

Time to decorate.  Turn down flap and sew on accents.  I used a Regals Designer Button and Baja Breeze Pleated Ribbon.  

Cutting 6 layers with one pass through the Big Shot makes the Dresden Plate quick and easy to piece together.  Pictured with the Twitterpated Designer Fabric (125412).  I plan to use my 3" Circle die to complete my Dresden Plate.

Scrapbooking or Card Making?

Card Making & Scrapbooking can go hand in hand.  Have you ever considered making a card to inspire a scrapbook layout?  Or have you ever considered using your scrapbook scraps to make a card?

Some may ask which came first the Chicken or the egg, but I say which came first Scrapbooking or card making?  If you are a avid scrapbooker, I challenge you to try a card this week.  And if you love making cards, you may just find that scrapbooking isn't that big of a stretch from card making.

For both my scrapbook layout and my birthday card I used the Funky Four stamp set.  Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Early Espresso and Whisper White make a bold statement for both cards & scrapbooks.

The Labels Collection Framelits cut just the right size Wisteria Wonder Label that I needed for my card backdrop.  The Labels collection offers size great sizes.

The bold scrip of the Perfectly Penned stamp set is just playful enough to compliment the Funky Four Stamp set.

For quilters the Dresden Designs dies make quick work of the otherwise tedious task of cutting of the Dresden Plate.  Not only does it cut the rounded edges perfectly each time, but it will also cut 6 or more layers of fabric at a time.

As you can see the Dresden Designs are not just for quilters.  Make the ever popular Dresden design from Designer Paper to add a whimsical touch to our scrapbook layout.

The Hearts Collection Framelits cut a beautiful tone on tone heart to highlight my precious grandsons: Hunter, Aiden and Connor.  First, cut your heart, then sponge around the edges with matching ink.

Good Bye 2011 Scrapbook Page

Scrapbook memories of 2011 with this simple Scrapbook layout. Kiss 2011 Good Bye with the S.W.A.P. single stamp and Riding Hood Red Classic ink on your Top Note Journaling Block.

The layout color combination was lifted from the Spice Cake Designer Fabric.  I love that the Tasteful Trim die is not limited to cutting card Stock and paper.  For today's layout we used the Spice Cake Designer Fabric.  Colors include:  Pool Party, More Mustard, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

Make quick work of your flower accent with the Button Buddies stamp set and the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch.  Add and Designer Button and Linen thread for a beautifully simple accent.

2-Step Stamping Video Tutorial

Meet a rhythmically challenged person, me.  Clapping with the music during worship at church and staying in beat  puts me at serious risk of falling over.  Can't you just imagine a whole row of fellow church members falling over like dominoes starting with me?  

Though I am have no rhythm, I can do the 2-step and so can you.  Two-Step stamping not only looks beautiful, but it's relaxing too.  And it's not a bit dangerous. Would you like to give it a try?
