Fabulous Flamingo 2 Step Stamping Tips

Fabulous Flamingo

 Hello Friends,

We received news yesterday that the birth of our newest granddaughter is eminent, so it was time for a dry run of the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp set.  I love the "Tickled Pink for you" stamp for a Baby Girl Card.  Plus, it's a 2 Step Stamping stamp set.  Let the fun begin!

Fabulous Flamingo 2 Step Stamping Tips

After a few dry runs, I figured out that it was a bit easier to line up stamps if I stamped the outline Flamingo Body stamp first.  For a softer look, I used Basic Gray ink rather the Basic Black.  The second layer was the flamingo body in Pink Pirouette ink.

Next, it was time to add some legs and another layer of pink.  For this layer, I stamped off and used Flirty Flamingo Ink at half strength.  Used full strength the Flirty Flamingo looked a little harsher than I wanted.

For the final step, I added definition to my bird's legs using the leg outline stamp and Basic Gray ink.  If you have been counting, that's more than 2 steps, but you get the idea.

Embossing Paste Tips and Tricks

Clean Up is easy as long as you clean your masks and tools right away before the paste hardens.

Use your re-inkers to color your paste.  I used Smoky Slate Ink for the sample above.

Relax and enjoy the process!  It should look slight uneven and imperfect.  That's the beauty of it.

So Many Shells

So Many Shells Card

Hello Friends,

Nothing says summer like Sea Shells and Sunshine.  With the official start of summer just days away, I thought that I would make a card with the So Many Shells Stamp set.  Its a two step stamp set which is always beautiful, but today I decided to try something a little different-Emboss Resist and Watercoloring.

Heat Embossing So Many Shells

First, I heat embossed white shells on watercolor paper.  Easy Peasy.

Watercoloring So Many Shells

Next, I spritzed the watercolor paper with water, then using my aqua painter I splashed So Saffron and Powder Pink inks across my paper.  For good measure,  I gave it a final spritz to really emphasize the watery look.  After it was completely dry, I stamped Miracles happen with Night of Navy Ink.

Glitter Enamel Dots added the final look of shimmer and shine.  Then, I topped it off with pretty pink washi tape.
