March National Kite Month

Swirly Bird Kite Card

 Hello Friends,

Did you know that March is National Kite Month?  Naturally, such a event calls for a handmade card.  For today's card, I combined the old with the new to make this whimsical Kite Card.  The old is really not all that old, it's the Swirly Bird Bundle from the Annual "Big" 2016-2017 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  The Swirly Bird  stamp set and Swirly Scribbles is so swirly and fun, plus it has a kite!   But what's a kite card without some cool clouds?  That's where the new Lift Me Up Bundle enters.  The crazy cute Lift Me Up Bundle from the 2017 Occasions Catalog offers a whole array of cloud stamps and dies.

Kites & Clouds Handmade Card

Love the Peek-a-Boo look that the cloud dies produce.  It even creates cloud shadows on the inside.  I cut the right edge of my card with the Swirly Scribbles dies to create a breezy, flowing feel.  Hint:  I inked my sentiment( Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set) with Pool Party and Old Olive inks by coloring the rubber with markers.

The Card Concept

A Big Thanks to Card Concept for the Card Challenge.  I chose the Clean and Layered look for my card.

Penned & Painted Hand Stamped Card

Penned & Painted Stampin' Up!

 Hello Friends,

Spring may be officially 3 weeks away, but everyone I talk to is looking for signs of spring now.  So I inked up my Penned & Painted stamp set with Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry Ink to dazzle you with this Springtime Card.  Hand Stamped Cards are always a welcome surprise in the mailbox.

The Penned & Painted stamp set is a two-step stamp set that gives the look of a hand painted flower garden.  After I stamped my flowers, I brushed on Clear Wink of Stella for a sun kissed look.

After stamping I dry embossed the whole thing with the Sparkle Embossing Folder.  And finally, I stamped the "Just a Note" sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and added a few accents.

Lift Me Up Hot Air Balloon Card

Lift Me Up Hot Air Balloon Card

 Hello Friends,

I love Hot Air Balloons.  They remind me of lazy days and adventure.  That's why I love the happy blend of images and sentiments that make the Lift Me Up stamp set the perfect pick-me-up kind of stamp set.

Lift Me Up

For a textured billowy look, I embossed a my background with the Hexagons Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and sponged Pool Party and Perfect Plum across the textured background.  Then I stamped the Lift your spirits sentiment and cut it with a Stitched Shapes Oval Die.
