Two-Toned Stamping Technique & Detailed Die Cut Tips

Bold Butterfly Stampin' Up!

Hello Friends,

Good Monday Morning,

Here's a quick and simple card that we recently made at a team meeting using the Ready to Pop stamp set, the Bold Butterflies dies and the Leaf Punch.  Scroll down to see the Two-Toned Stamping Technique explained.  It's really quite simple.

Two-Toned Stamping Technique

Hint:  When die cutting with detailed dies such as the Bold Butterfly dies use the Precision Base Plate.  Your little pieces will pop right out.  See the video below to see how it works.

Detailed dies are great, but sometimes it's hard to make all of the fine cuts crisp and sharp. Problem solved! The Precision Base Plate adds a little more oomph to your die sandwich, making working with detailed dies a dream.

Two-Toned Stamping Technique

Love the Two-Tone Stamping Technique with the Stamparatus.  For today's card, I am stamping with the Ready to Pop stamp set and Berry Burst Ink.  To get the light and dark look with just one ink.  I simply stamped, then stamped again without reinking.  Then, I repeated the  whole process once more to get the alternating dark and light stamped images.  The hinged system of the Stamparatus makes this technique super simple to do.

Coloring on Glossy Designer Paper

Springtime Foil Paper's Glossy Surface is a dream to Color.  Here's a few Coloring Tips.

Flicking strokes yield much better results than a circular motions with the glossy surface.

I tried coloring with both Stampin' Blends (Alcohol Based Markers) and ink pads and was equally please with the results.

The Calypso Coral flowers were colored and blended with Stampin' Blends.  It's especially import to use flicking motions when blending on glossy paper.  The colors also look darker and richer on glossy paper.  The blends  dry very quickly, which is nice for adding multiple layers of color.

The leaves were colored with Emerald Envy Ink and a blender pen.  To add depth to my coloring, I went back and added a second and sometimes third layer of color leaving some spaces lighter than others.

Note: These vibrant colors looked especially good with the Rose Gold foil!

Rich Razzleberry Flirty Flowers

Flirty Flowers Stampin' Up!Hello Friends,

My Stampin' Blend Markers are making me fall in love with coloring all over again.  For today's card, I created a playful backdrop with the Flirty Flowers stamp set.  These quirky little flowers are so fun to color.

Flirty Flowers Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Blends Markers are fabulous for coloring line art stamped images, but did you know that you can also use them to color soft, billowy backgrounds.  For today's card, I colored with the brush tip end of my Light Crumb Stampin' Blend between my flirty flowers.

Coloring Ribbon for Card MakingQuick Tips

I love the Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon the way it, but did you know that you can also add color?  Yep, for today's card I colored a length with my Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blend.

I created the lovely detailed scallop with a die from the Petals & More Thinlits Dies set and Gold Foil Paper.  The sentiment label was cut with the same dies.  The Petals & More Thinlits Dies were designed to be used with the Petal Palette stamp set, but don't stop there.  As you can see, they pair nicely with the Flirty Flowers stamp set too.

Add extra shimmer to your colored images with your Wink of Stella Pen.  Simply, brush it over your colored images.
