Last Hurrah for Zany Zebras

Hello Friends,

Let's give a final salute, a last hurrah to the retiring Zany Zebras stamp set.  Here's two cute and simple cards made with the Zany Zebras stamp set.

This time-saving technique is what I call the Peek-a-Boo Corner Technique.  It really is a time saver because you don't have to spend endless minutes choosing which side of the designer paper you want to use.  Simply fold down the corner and Tada, you can see both sides at once.  Hint:  Stamping with a Stamparatus Stamp Positioning Tool eliminates a lot of do-overs.

Card Measurements

Cut Thick Whisper White Card Base 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".  Score at 4-1/4".

Cut Designer Paper 4" x 5-1/4".

If you would like to invest a couple of extra minutes on your hand-stamped card, try this on the inside.

 

This Zany Zebras card was definitely designed as a Baby Card, but as I look at it I see that it could easily fit other occasions too.  It could be congrats for any sort of child's accomplishment such as earning a new belt in a Karate Class or getting all A's.  The Zany Zebras stamp set by Stampin' Up! makes such simple and fun cards for both babies or children.

 

How to Customize a Card

I chose to use my Playful Alphabet Dies for today's Baby Card for two reasons.

Reason #1-I wanted to make a big bold statement, so I cut "WOW!" from Coastal Cabana Cardstock.  Then, I stamped Congratulations with a stamp from the A Grand Kid stamp set.

Reason #2-I simply wanted to say, "A Grandson" on the inside, but I didn't have a stamp that said what I wanted to say.  To playfully say, "A Grandson", I cut an A using my Playful Alphabet dies, then I picked up a snippet of plaid paper leftover from the front of my card to use as a mat, and finally, I stamped a sentiment that had the word "grandson" in it and simply snipped around the word that I wanted to use.

Baby Shark Twisted Easel Card

Hello Friends,

Today's Baby Shark Twisted Easel Card puts a whole new twist on the Twisted Easel Card Design.  On Friday's Blog Post I introduced the Twisted Easel card with an Under My Umbrella theme.  Today's I thought that I would take another bite at this fun Fancy Fold Card.

 

Here's a close up of Mama and Papa Shark.  There are so, so many cute accessories to dress them up using both stamps and dies.  I've highlighted just a few for today's Baby Shark Twisted Easel Card.

One lovely thing about Twisted Easel Cards is that they mail flat.  They tuck neatly into an envelope.

 

How to Make a Twisted Easel Card

Cut a 11" x 4-1/4" Card Base.  Score at 5-1/2" as you usually would.  Then... , here's the twist, score diagonally from the top right corner to the bottom left corner along the seam as shown.

Cut a 4" piece of designer paper or card stock  and cut diagonally to make the triangular pieces to decorate your card front.

Here's the trick to making your easel stand up.  Pop up your inside piece using dimensionals.  This gives your easel something to catch or lean up against.

Oval Occasions Baby Card

 

Hello Friends,

 

As I unpacked my most recent Stampin' Up! order I noticed that the Oval Occasions Bundle and the Punch Party Hostess stamp set would work really well together to make a Baby Card.  My inspiration for today's handmade Baby Card was page 17 of the Sale-a-bration January 5-February 28, 2021 Catalog.  I loved the way the fun colors with the white embossing popped against the Crumb Cake!
